Support for the Guys

It takes two to tango, right?  A possible pregnancy affects both of you.  Don’t stick your head in the sand.  Get the information you need to make a healthy choice. We are here for the girls and the guys.

I think she might be pregnant. What now?
Come in with her for pregnancy testing. That is the first step.  Meet with our nurse to find out just what is going on. Don’t panic!  Take it one step at a time.  Call or text us at 205-565-4554.

She is pregnant.  What about me?  How do we get through this? 
You are stronger than you know.  Step up and learn.  Be a part of the pregnancy testing, ultrasound, and options counseling.  Listen.  Don’t back away. We are here to help work through each step of the learning process with you.  Our volunteers are here to support you and help you stand strong.

She wants to carry the baby.  I’m not sure.  What now?
Don’t rush. Slow down and take your time.  Talk through this.  You have plenty of time to adjust and adapt.  We will share accurate evidence based medical information about your options.

I have no clue about how to raise a baby! What do I do now?
That’s perfectly normal.  No one knows how to be a first time parent.  We have men who are eager to help walk you through this process.  We have classes and resources to help you learn what you need to know.  You are not alone!

I have no money!  How will I pay for all this?
We work with many families that have financial challenges.   EVERY-THING we offer here at PRC-Hueytown is free…pregnancy testing, ultrasound, classes, baby items.  We can help with referrals for other needs such as medical care.

What about adoption?
Adoption is a great choice if you and the baby’s mom are not ready to parent.  It gives your child a loving family, and you can even pick out the family yourselves.  There are thousands of wonderful families that are able and willing to adopt your child!  We can give you names of reputable adoption agencies and they can give you all the details.
